MCA directs Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Will Ferrell, Elijah Wood, Jack Black, and John C. Reilly on the set of the “Fight for your Right Revisited” music video shoot.  I captured this moment in November of 2010 when the Beastie Boys used my car in the movie.
MCA was in the throes of fighting cancer, but he was still as captivating and inspiring a director as ever.  There were even a few takes where I had the honor of being directed by him, having to whip the DeLorean around and then showing Yauch himself how to drive it.  All I could remember was how quiet and gracious, yet powerful and commanding he was.  He was just a really nice guy and very loving towards his wife and daughter. Everyone on set had such a reverence for MCA, he was like a sage wiseman who also happened to be one of hip-hop’s most influential rappers.
The Beastie Boys were my first love affair with music.  Rest in Power to MCA.
